VISUAL ART
The Visual Arts represent a broad field of creative practice that involves the hand, the eye, the intellect and the imagination in conceptualising and crafting two-dimensional and three-dimensional objects and environments which reflect the aesthetic, conceptual and expressive concerns of individuals or groups.
Our school is fortunate to have a very strong Art Department that consistently achieves excellent matric results. The department now also offers exposure to the field of graphic design with the introduction of lessons in using computer design tools like Photoshop.

Drama is a recognized subject for University entry.
A subject for those who want to achieve more in life!
Drama fills a basic need for activity in learners. When you get learners interested and involved, it translates to better thinking, reading and writing.
The skills a young person develops in Drama are the very skills needed for the workplace of the twenty-first century. If someone exhibits good team work, communication, problem solving and creative thinking skills, an employer is thrilled. That is where your dramatic arts classes really teach critical future skills.
Drama increases concentration and comprehension. Studies show that children who dramatize stories have higher reading comprehension scores than those who only read the story. (DuPont, 1992).
Drama helps young people develop understanding. Dramatic Arts is a proven way of building relationships with parents, the school’s community, university and the work place.

It is also a subject that requires a great deal of peer trust, and so it plays an important role in teaching communication, listening and empathy skills. Studying drama is demanding, and teaches pupils that success only comes from hard work. The skills that are learnt by studying drama are invaluable in later life.
