HOSPITALITY STUDIES
This subject covers theoretical and operational aspects of Food and Beverage Preparation and Service, incorporating the Principles of Safety, Hygiene and Environmental Awareness. It provides learners with an understanding of the various sectors and diverse contexts that comprise the Hospitality Industry. Hospitality also provides learners with a life-time skill, which is beneficial no matter what career they choose in the end. Many past pupils who have taken the subject are enjoying successful careers in the hospitality industry, not only in South Africa, but throughout the world. We are proud of the 100% matric pass rate achieved to date.

TOURISM
The subject Tourism involves the study of why people travel and how to meet their needs and expectations. It focuses on the Tourism Industry as an inter-related, broad and dynamic economic sector. The subject addresses Tourism Geography, creates an awareness of the role played by South Africa in the International Tourism Industry, and investigates and evaluates the value of Tourism to a country. The subject emphasizes the responsibility of all citizens to contribute towards responsible and sustainable Tourism practices and socio-economic growth. The value and importance of appropriate and clear communication, a respect for diversity, and the provision of quality service is highlighted. Many of our learners have achieved excellent results over the years including 2017, where we had 20% achieving an A symbol.
